Hotel California

Several bottles of cane whiskey later we made our way to the Moon Cafe where I sat in as the band's guest drummer while Ong belted out one of the sloppiest versions of Hotel California he's ever done. It was beautiful. I was afforded no drum solos, but I kept the beat strong for the next few songs while Ong backed me up on hi-hat. (Using all four of my appendages was proving difficult becasue not only was I feeling the whiskey—I'm actually not a drummer.)

We finished our set around 1AM and stumbled to the nearest roadside noodle stand. Just another Monday night in Thailand.

Donna Smith sez:

You’re not a bass player either, but didn’t you stand in for the bass guy in a club in So Cal one time when you were 18?

Louie Louie wasn’t it….

Geoffrey sez:

I believe the club in question was the Rusty Pelican and yes, Louie Louie was indeed my first public performance.

ROARSHOCK sez:

Dude you’re wrong. It was Sons of Pioneers. I saw it. A small crowd did too. Perhaps I’m confusing you with Pat Gavin.
