Top Ten Websites of 2006

Here’s the sites I keep coming back to time and time again. (I don’t use RSS)

Kottke
Still coming up with great content. (And he once mailed me his personal copy of Mission Impossible 2 on DVD—what a guy.)
Point Of Inquiry (Podcast)
This is the podcast that finally got me to give podcasting some attention. D.J. Grothe does a stellar job interviewing the great secular thinkers of our day. Really great stuff!
Signals vs. Noise
Lots of good banter from a nice bunch of guys.
The Stranger Slog
Just like The Stranger—only daily. Good stuff from Seattle’s best news source.
Science Blogs
So much to read! Check out The Intersection from Chris Mooney.
The Huffington Post
Daily news and opinion with a fairly wide range.
Curbed
Satisfies my architecture/urbanist fix. Also comes in these flavors: Los Angeles, San Francisco, Gutter and Eater.
Design Observer
Great graphic design musings from Michael Bierut and gang.
Swissmiss
A little kid-heavy these days, but Tina Roth Eisenberg is still the best Cool Hunter out there. (Okay, she sent me a DVD once too.)
Reason: Hit & Run
Great blog from the writers of my favorite magazine. A refreshing alternative to the right-wing/left-wing rhetoric.

Charles G. Anderson sez:

My mother still regrets ruining a white felt top hat of yours. Perhaps, you remember. She is willing to replace it with an authentic vintage Shriner’s fez. I know this would be on permanant display, as it is quite beautiful. I don’t need to tell you what a rare find this is. you’d have to crash a lot of “estate sales” to obtain one. Hope all is well with you. Feel free to write me anytime or just pass my e-mail address on to any of the old gang. spunky knows best. your pal, Chuck

Geoffrey sez:

Chuck! You have resurfaced yet again. You are quite the elusive one. We will travel to Don’s.

I will continue this conversation on the proper channel.
