LookatLao is Back!

Okay. I’m back. I’ve been on a long hiatus here at LookatLao due mostly to the previously mentioned launch of Urban Dish followed by a long vacation in Thailand where I pretty much ate and drank my way through Bangkok in search of the elevated mood. I’m pretty sure I found it, and a full report will be available on Urban Dish in the guise of “food reporting” shortly.

While my journalistic efforts are percolating, feel free to peruse the the Thailand 2007 photo tour I have just uploaded on Flickr.

Not that it needs saying, but Thailand was great. I found some great new places to eat and drink, I hung out with my old pal and and famous expat author David Young, drank numerous cold bottles of Singha with all my old Thai pals, and pretty much solidified my desire to move back to Thailand as soon as I can. This time around I think I have a plan, so if it all works out, my stateside days might be numbered…I’ll keep you posted.

Well, the plan has always been to move back at some point, but I’m now thinking I might accelerate the process a bit. I’ll still be stateside for while finishing up my design career. But ultimately something along the lines of a bar/hotel/spa is what I really want to do.

I’ll keep you posted…
